The Ombudsman Office competed a three days in house planning meeting on Friday 5th of February 2021. During the course of the 3 days, the institution reviewed its progress after the completion of the 2020 Financial year and also completed its 2021 planning.
Important aspects of the work of the Ombudsman was discussed during the three days by the Ombudsman and his staff along with a proposed 5 year’s corporate plan for the institution.
Ombudsman Bulu, clarified to his officers about the importance of the Institution to refocus on its core objectives in order to achieve its ultimate goal as mandated by the Constitution and the Ombudsman Act. Staffs were being reminded of the high standard expected of the institution to be effective and to hold corruption at the lowest level possible and also on the core theme of the institution “Serving the Nation Better”
Over the past 18 months the Office had been undergoing major changes in its administrative and investigative processes. This changes also included few amendments made to the Ombudsman Act and the Leadership Code Act.
A new office structure of the Ombudsman Office is expected to be approved within the next 4 months along with a corporate plan to be launched for the 2022 financial year that would set a new direction for the institution for the next five years. More changes is expected to follow over the next 10 months.
