The RTI Bill Act of 2016 was passed by the Parliament of Vanuatu in November 2016 and it was was gazetted on the 6th of February 2017.

The RTI law gives a legal basis to the right to information and require all government agencies to release information. It also establish a complaints mechanism if agencies do not release information.
