The Ombudsman, Mr. Hamlison Bulu conducted an awareness on the Leadership Code with the newly appointed Senior Executive Officers of Government Ministries and the New Directors of Government Departments on Thursday 24th of June 2021.

Ombudsman Bulu talked about the Leadership Code and the requirements to comply with it. He went on to talk about the role of the Ombudsman and the reasons why it is essential to have an Ombudsman. The discussions included the obligations of leaders to file Annual Returns and the reasons behind the filing of such returns.

The Ombudsman also mentioned there is an urgent need to strengthen the Ombudsmans’ capacity, in terms of funding and human resources to better perform its functions.
