Today 14 July 2026, the Office of the Ombudsman commemorated its 32nd anniversary, marking 32 years since its establishment in 1994.

The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the Office’s achievements and challenges over the years, while reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its role and guiding institutions forward. Speaking at the celebration, Ombudsman Bulu highlighted the Office’s important constitutional mandate and its continued dedication to promoting accountability and good governance.

Ombudsman Bulu also praised the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork demonstrated by the Office’s staff and student interns. He acknowledged their commitment to public service and encouraged those interested in pursuing careers within the Office of the Ombudsman to continue striving towards their professional goals.

As the Office marks this milestone, it remains committed to upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in public leadership for the benefit of the people of Vanuatu.
